WhatsApp/Telegram 'All India Pregnant Job' scam offering 5-10 lakhs is it real

This insidious scam begins with an unsolicited message, usually on WhatsApp or Telegram. The message, often poorly worded, will promise an outrageous sum – typically ₹5 to ₹10 Lakhs – for participating in an "All India Pregnant Job" scheme. The premise is to "help childless women" by becoming pregnant, portraying it as a noble and well-paying service. Once a victim expresses interest, the scammers initiate a multi-stage extortion process. They will first demand a "registration fee," claiming it's necessary to process their application for this 'job'. This request is almost invariably for a relatively small amount, designed to test the victim's willingness to pay and to establish a transactional relationship. Following the registration, the scam escalates. Victims are then told they need to pay for "hotel accommodation" or "travel expenses," purportedly to meet the 'clients' or undergo medical checks. These payments are consistently requested through UPI – India's popular unified payments interface – due to its ease of use and perceived anonymity for the fraudsters. A crucial and particularly cruel element of this scam involves a "female caller" who poses as one of the 'childless women' or a 'client'. This individual contacts the victim, often speaking convincingly and empathetically, to build rapport and trust. Their role is to emotionally manipulate the victim, keeping them engaged and encouraging them to make further payments. They might talk about their desperation for a child, making the victim feel like they are truly helping a noble cause. As the scam progresses, more and more reasons to extract money are invented: a "security deposit," "medical testing fees," "legal document charges," or even "advance payment processing fees." Each time, the urgency is emphasized, and the payout is dangled as an imminent reward. The scammers leverage the victim's hope, financial desperation, and even altruistic desires to keep the money flowing. The calls and messages often intensify in frequency and pressure, making it difficult for the victim to disengage. Crucially, no actual job ever materializes, and the promised lakhs remain an illusion. The perpetrators disappear once the victim either runs out of money or becomes suspicious.

• Unsolicited Offers of Unbelievable Income:** Any message offering lakhs of rupees for a highly unusual "job" like this, especially if unsolicited, is a massive red flag. Legitimate job offers don't arrive via random WhatsApp messages with such outlandish claims.
• Requests for Upfront Payments (Registration, Hotel, Security Deposit):** A legitimate employer will never ask you to pay any fees – registration, hotel, security deposit, or otherwise – to get a job. This is a classic scam tactic.
• Pressure to Pay via UPI Immediately:** Scammers often push for quick payments via UPI, as transactions are often harder to reverse once completed. Be suspicious of anyone rushing you to transfer money.
• Emotional Manipulation by a 'Client':** The introduction of a "female client" or third party who appeals to your emotions, making you feel guilty or responsible, is a tactic to bypass your rational judgment and extract more money.
• Poor Language and Grammatical Errors:** Scam messages often contain grammatical errors, awkward phrasing, or unusual sentence structures. While not always definitive, it's a common indicator of fraudulent communication.
• Demanding Personal Documents or Information After Payment:** Once money is transferred, they might ask for Aadhar, PAN, or bank details, purportedly for 'onboarding,' but this could be used for further identity theft.

• Never Pay for a Job Opportunity:** This is the golden rule. Legitimate employers pay you; you do not pay them for employment.
• Verify All Job Offers Independently:** If a job offer seems too good to be true, it almost certainly is. Research the company or scheme mentioned online. Look for official websites, contact details, and reviews. In this case, "All India Pregnant Job" is clearly not a legitimate entity.
• Be Skeptical of Unsolicited Messages:** Treat any unexpected message offering money or a job opportunity with extreme caution, especially if it's from an unknown number or on informal platforms like WhatsApp/Telegram.
• Guard Your Personal and Financial Information:** Never share your UPI PIN, OTP, bank account details, credit/debit card numbers, or Aadhar details with unknown individuals or on unverified platforms.
• Discuss with Trusted Individuals:** If you receive such a message, talk to a trusted family member or friend before responding or making any payments. A second opinion can often highlight the dubious nature of the offer.
• Identify Emotional Manipulation:** Be aware of tactics designed to make you feel sympathetic, guilty, or pressured. Scammers are experts at exploiting human emotions.

• Do NOT Engage Further:** The moment you suspect it's a scam, stop all communication with the perpetrators. Do not respond to their calls or messages.
• Block the Scammer:** Immediately block the phone numbers and accounts on WhatsApp/Telegram from which you received the messages or calls.
• Report the Incident:**
• National Cybercrime Reporting Portal:** File a complaint immediately at www.cybercrime.gov.in or call Helpline Number 1930. Provide all details, including screenshots of messages and transaction IDs.
• UPI App Support:** If you made a UPI payment, contact your respective UPI app's customer support (e.g., Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm) and report the fraudulent transaction.
• Bank:** Inform your bank about the fraudulent transaction and see if they can help reverse or block it, although UPI transactions are often hard to recover.
• Collect Evidence:** Take screenshots of all messages, caller IDs, transaction details, and any other relevant information. This will be crucial for your complaint.
• Inform Others:** Share your experience with friends and family to raise awareness and prevent them from falling victim to similar scams.
